Hudson Police seek witnesses after bicyclist injured in collision on Library Street

HUDSON, NH – On May 3, 2024, at 4:35 p.m., Hudson Police and Hudson Fire personnel responded to the intersection of Library and Connell streets for a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle. 

Upon arrival, Hudson Police, Hudson Fire personnel and witnesses began to administer life-saving measures to the injured cyclist. The male cyclist was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. 

The initial investigation determined a Chevy Malibu was stopped in traffic waiting to turn left onto Connell Street from Library Street. Northbound traffic on Library Street stopped to allow the Chevy Malibu make the turn. As the Chevy Malibu made the turn, a cyclist traveling north in the shoulder on Library Street crashed into the passenger side of the Malibu. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the cause of the collision. 

This crash is still under investigation and the names of involved are being withheld. Anyone who witnessed the crash can contact Officer Blanchard at (603) 886-6011.
